InmersionRural Ireland
Immersion with
a rural family
This type of immersion, which is two to four weeks long, allows students who are 12 to 17 years old to participate on their own or with a companion.
Immersion on a farm
Being involved in a
family’s daily life
Students can be immersed in different types of farms including organic, livestock and touristic.
This form of immersion is similar to volunteering so it is cheaper for the applicant. The sharing of the daily chores is considered sufficient to offset the student’s accommodation and living costs.
Those interested and who have already passed the selection process will increase their agricultural knowledge, which can then be put to good use on the family farm.
Applicants must be between 14 and 17 years old to participate in this type of immersion, which has a minimum duration of three weeks and a maximum of two months.
Group immersion
These language immersion programmes are done in groups together with Irish teenagers and/or students of different nationalities, all while staying in a boarding school.
All programmes provide a 24-hour service and there is also a Spanish monitor who, along with the local coordinator, supervise the activities and the overall immersion process. These immersions take place between July and August.
