InmersionRural Spain
There are two ways to experience this programme:
Individual
Inmersion
To participate in this programme, you must be between 12 and 16 years old and it is open to everyone.
In this type of programme, the student is able to set their goals and preferences and pass on their interests to help us produce a tailor-made programme. It is ideal for teenagers who are unsure about getting involved in the family farm as well as those who want to experience something different, deepen their knowledge or improve their fluency in Spanish. This programme is also designed for young people interested in travelling or exchanging their skills.
The various activities and the host families are located in Castilla y León, most of them in the city of León.
Depending on the applicant’s interest, attitude and skills, InmersionRural will look for a farm or an activity centre and the most suitable family, as well as ensuring costs are kept to a minimum.
To request this service or for further information, it is necessary to write an e-mail with the student’s profile, skills, objectives, Spanish level and a brief story about his or her life. It must be sent to our e-mail address in PDF format. The e-mail will be answered promptly to continue with the next stage: further information or a Skype interview.
Family Exchange
Exchange Programme
to the Unites States
This way, they will gradually become fully immersed in the American daily routine. When the American students visit Spain, they will stay with Spanish families and participate in planned activities as well. Each exchange usually lasts for two weeks in each country – students go to a country as guests and then receive an exchange student in return – a total of 28 days.
To participate in this exchange, students should be between 14 and 17 years old and should have already taken part in a previous language immersion experience.
In order to apply for an exchange, it is necessary to have the support from both Spanish and American students’ educational institutions.
This experience not only benefits the participants, but it also benefits teachers, in particular their knowledge and teaching methods, which ultimately aids their professional development.
This programme typically leads to better language communication among students and helps build international ties, besides increasing the sociocultural and general knowledge about each country. The involvement of families and educational institutions from both countries is considered of great importance as well.
